Ever since I was appointed Climate Change Ambassador in November 2006, I've been trying like hell to get the message about Global Climate Change across.
I've been very busy with my project and also am trying to make a difference in the company I'm currently employed in and to top it all of my initial Campaign (CoolSchools) will be getting bigger bolder and better in Rotterdam this autumn.
Now I hear some of you thinking: "why is he telling us all of this? Is he trying to make a point for himself??"
Well...apart from this being partly true (I do love to talk) I guess there is a deeper message included. Sometimes I tend to get lost in the business of combatting climate change and that sometimes get's me frustrated.
Last week I decided to lay down and watch the DVD documentary "Earth". And while I was watching it suddenly hit me...This is it!!! This is what we are all in this game for...this...magnificent, perfectly shaped piece of rock in the vast overwhelming void we call space. Our planet..with it's amazing biodiversity, sceneries, wildlife and utter raw beauty.
Suddenly I regained the feeling I got when I first set foot in the arctic region. A feeling of "we cannot ever let such natural beauty be destroyed".
I guess I want to say to all of the ambassadors...working hard on their projects, convincing people that what we are doing is good. If you ever feel like what you are doing is invain, remember this feeling and I'm sure you will somehow find the strenght within you to keep going because in the end....Isn't a place like our planet worth fighting for!!!
"thanks for all this self related information Lars"
